Casa Laguna Azul
Studio Viktor Sørless, Baja California Sur
Architectural Narrative
Tucked into a secluded stretch of Baja California Sur, Casa Laguna Azul is shaped by its connection to the land and the nearby blue lagoon that gives it its name. The design embraces the site’s natural rhythms—sun, wind, and salt air—through a palette of raw, earthy materials that age with grace.
The architecture is open and porous, allowing the indoors and outdoors to flow together with ease. Shaded terraces, filtered light, and framed views create a continuous dialogue between the house and the surrounding desert landscape.
Though built for occasional use, the house is designed to feel familiar from the moment one steps inside. Its spaces are warm and broken-in, encouraging slow mornings, quiet afternoons, and long stays. Casa Laguna Azul sits gently in its setting—anchored, intentional, and quietly at home.
Visual Narrative
This series explores the atmosphere and materiality of Casa Laguna Azul through shifting light, texture, and spatial relationships. Each image captures the house’s dialogue with its surroundings—where shadow and sunlight move across weathered surfaces and openings frame views of desert, sky, and lagoon.
The compositions range from expansive to intimate, revealing how the architecture sits within the land and how its spaces feel when inhabited. Soft transitions between inside and out underscore the home’s openness, while natural materials ground each scene with a sense of permanence.
