Gaggenau

Expressive Series

The Gaggenau Expressive series, inspired by Bauhaus principles and minimalist modern architecture showcases bold, sculptural forms. “Two frames, one circle, a piece of art,” encapsulates its essence – each element a stroke of design genius. The outer frame of the Gaggenau Expressive series delineates a clear boundary with its kitchen environment, while the inner frame cradles the innovative passepartout: Gaggenau Stainless Steel behind smoked glass, harmonizing strength with elegance.

With the Expressive Series, Gaggenau enters a new era of culinary performance and artistic expression. This latest collection redefines what an oven can be—both as a professional-grade instrument and as a bold design statement within the kitchen.

Location Design Narrative

We approached the home as an architectural frame for precision, character, and performance—the very traits embodied in the Expressive Series. Where Gaggenau has reimagined the oven as an object of sculptural and technical presence, we responded with a space that does the same: dark, elemental, confident.
This house is not minimal. It is precise. Not quiet, but composed. Every line, joint, and surface was calibrated to celebrate what the Expressive Series represents: a return to tactile elegance, a reverence for craftsmanship, and a belief that performance should be felt—not just measured.

Just as the Expressive Series is built to be both seen and used, so too is this house. Large panes of glazing open the interior to forest, sky, and reflection—grounding every act of living, cooking, and gathering within the sensory environment. The exterior’s modest posture dissolves into the landscape, while the interior reveals moments of drama, intimacy, and focus.

The pool, garden, and terrace extend the narrative of form and stillness. Reflections off the water recall the brushed sheen of metal; the rhythm of wooden beams mirrors the repeated precision of the appliance fronts.

The kitchen is the core. Not merely functional, it is theatrical—a proscenium for tools worthy of display. The tall, monolithic cabinetry integrates ovens and storage into a continuous architectural rhythm, while the freestanding island becomes a performance platform, catching morning light across its brushed surfaces and revealing the expressive detailing of Gaggenau’s products.
