Riviera Galleria

Kengo Kuma & Associates, Greece

Riviera Galleria is a high-end retail and lifestyle destination located within The Ellinikon, a transformative coastal development in Athens, Greece. Designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the project blends Mediterranean elegance with organic architecture inspired by the movement of the sea and light.

The centerpiece of the design is “The Ripple”, a striking, wave-like canopy that defines the building’s identity. Made from wood and semi-transparent materials, it evokes the imagery of sails and the nearby coastline, creating a sense of openness and natural fluidity. The architecture merges indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting natural light and sea breezes into the visitor experience.

Riviera Galleria spans approximately 23,000 square meters, featuring over 100 carefully curated boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and cultural venues. It is designed to offer not just luxury shopping, but a holistic seaside experience—harmonizing architecture, landscape, and lifestyle.

The project emphasizes sustainability, local materials, and pedestrian-friendly design, making it both a landmark destination and a vital part of The Ellinikon’s vision for a greener, smarter Athens.

Far from the conventional mall concept, the experience is designed as a seaside promenade, where visitors move fluidly between open-air walkways, shaded terraces, and sculpted interiors—all framed by views of the Aegean.

.

The curated selection of restaurants, cafés, and wine bars brings together world-class gastronomy and local culinary heritage. From fine dining establishments led by acclaimed chefs to casual eateries and seaside cafés, each venue is designed to complement the architectural language of the space—open, inviting, and effortlessly elegant.

Embrace the Art of Life.

At Riviera Galleria, the day begins not with noise, but with light—filtered softly through the wave-like canopy that hovers like a sail in motion. Here, architecture doesn’t rise—it flows. The lines are curved like coastlines, the shadows gentle like sea foam slipping over warm stone.
You arrive not simply to shop, but to wander. To let your pace slow. The scent of salt air drifts between boutiques. Terraces open like pages of a book, each one offering a new rhythm—an espresso with sea views, silk brushing your fingertips, the soft hush of linen in the breeze.
This is a place where design listens to nature. Where wood and marble meet light and silence. Where the horizon is always in view, reminding you that luxury need not shout—it can whisper, unfold, breathe.
Dining happens al fresco, beneath soft fabrics that flutter like memories. Glasses catch the afternoon sun. Laughter spills into the blue. The marina shimmers nearby—sails anchored, time suspended.
Riviera Galleria is not just a destination. It’s a mood. A moment. A conversation between architecture and air, between you and the sea.
